المَرْوَة: حَجَرٌ أَبيض بَرَّاق، وَقِيلَ: هِيَ الَّتِي يُقْدَح مِنْهَا النَّارُ، ومَرْوَةُ المَسْعَى الَّتِي تُذكرُ مَعَ الصَّفا وَهِيَ أَحد رأْسَيْه اللذَيْنِ ينتهِي السعيُ إِليهما
